INTRODUCTION

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Ratemydateni’s services, website, and events. By purchasing a ticket, attending an event, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. **Please read these Terms carefully before making a purchase.** Ratemydateni (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates speed dating and singles events across Northern Ireland.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By:

Purchasing a ticket through our website or third-party platforms
Attending any of our events
Using our website or services

You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

⚠️ If you do not agree with these Terms, do not purchase tickets or attend our events.

SECTION 3

ELIGIBILITY

Age Requirement

You must be 18 years or older to attend our events.

By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We reserve the right to request photo identification at any event. Anyone unable to prove they are 18 or older will be refused entry without refund.

Age-Specific Events

Some events specify age ranges (e.g., “Age 25-35”, “Age 40-55”). By purchasing a ticket for an age-specific event, you confirm you fall within the specified age range. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone outside the stated age range without refund.

Geographic Restrictions

Our events are primarily held in Northern Ireland. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge that you are able to attend the event at the specified location.

Attendance Frequency

To ensure a varied experience for all participants, we limit how often individuals may attend events.

Individuals may:

Attend a maximum of 3 events within any 6-month period in the same location
Not attend more than 2 events in a row without a break of at least one event cycle

This helps keep our events fresh and maximises opportunities for meaningful connections for all attendees.

Mutual Matching & Attendance Review

Our events work best when there’s potential for mutual connection. If an attendee has attended 3 or more events without receiving any mutual matches, we may:

Reach out to offer feedback or suggestions
Recommend a break before attending further events
Suggest alternative event formats that may be a better fit

This policy applies equally to all attendees and is based solely on matching outcomes, not personal characteristics.

Our Commitment

We want everyone to have a positive experience. If our events aren’t working for you, we’re happy to discuss other options, provide a refund for unused tickets, or suggest resources that might help.

SECTION 4

TICKET PURCHASE AND PAYMENT

Ticket Types

We offer various ticket types:

Standard Tickets: Include all speed dating rounds and match results
Premium Tickets: Include additional features (second chance, ticket protection, familiar faces feature)

All features and inclusions are clearly stated at the time of purchase.

Pricing

All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include any applicable taxes. Prices may vary by event, date, and ticket type.

Payment Methods

We accept:

Credit and debit cards (via Stripe)
PayPal
Third-party ticketing platforms (Eventbrite, Skiddle, TicketSource)

Payment is required in full at the time of booking. Your ticket is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.

Payment Processing

Payment information is processed securely through our payment providers. We do not store your full card details. Please review the privacy policies of our payment processors:

Confirmation

Upon successful payment, you will receive:

Immediate order confirmation email
Ticket confirmation with event details
Pre-event reminder emails (typically 48 hours before the event)

Please check your spam/junk folder if you don’t receive confirmation within 10 minutes.

Gender Selection

When purchasing tickets, you must select the correct gender option (Male/Female). This ensures we maintain balanced numbers at our events. Purchasing the wrong ticket type may result in being turned away without refund.

SECTION 5

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.

No Refunds Policy

This includes but is not limited to:

Change of mind
Illness or medical emergencies
Travel disruptions
Work commitments
Personal circumstances
Weather conditions
Any other reason

By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and accept this no-refunds policy.

Ticket Transfers

Ticket holders can transfer their ticket to another person only with out approval and with the following conditions:

The new attendee must meet the age requirements
The new attendee must be the correct gender for the ticket purchased
You must notify us of the transfer at least 24 hours before the event
Email info@ratemydateni.com with both names and the new attendee’s contact details
Ticket transfers are subject to availability and our approval

Note: We cannot guarantee that transferred tickets will maintain the same match results, as matching is based on in-person interactions.

Premium Ticket Protection

Premium Ticket holders receive ticket protection, which allows you to:

Transfer your ticket to a future event if you cannot attend
Move your booking once without penalty
Must provide notice by the end of the day before the event
Subject to availability at alternative events
Alternative event must be of equal or lesser value

To use ticket protection, email info@ratemydateni.com at least 48 hours before your scheduled event.

Event Cancellations by Us

If we cancel an event (due to insufficient numbers, venue issues, or other circumstances):

You will receive a full refund or transfer to another event (your choice)
We will notify you as soon as possible (typically 48 hours before the event)
We are not liable for any travel, accommodation, or other expenses incurred

Event Changes

We reserve the right to:

Change event venues (with reasonable notice)
Modify event formats or activities
Adjust start times (with notice)
Make other reasonable changes to improve the event experience

We will notify ticket holders of significant changes via email. Minor changes (e.g., slight timing adjustments) do not entitle you to a refund.

SECTION 6

EVENT ATTENDANCE

Check-In Requirements

When attending an event, you must:

Arrive during the stated arrival time (typically 15-30 minutes before start)
Bring valid photo identification (passport, driver’s license, or national ID)
Check in with our event staff before entry
Wear appropriate attire as specified for the event

Late arrivals may be refused entry without refund.

Dress Code

Most events specify “Smart Casual” dress code. This means:

No sportswear or gym clothes
No flip-flops or beach sandals
No offensive or inappropriate clothing
Neat, clean, and presentable appearance

We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone not meeting the dress code.

Event Format

Our standard speed dating format includes:

Multiple short dates (typically 4-5 minutes each)
Opportunity to meet 10-20+ people (depending on attendance)
Drinks breaks for mingling
Match cards to indicate interest
Hosted facilitation by our staff

Exact formats may vary by event. All details are provided before the event.

Match Results

After the event:

You submit your match preferences via match cards
We process mutual matches (where both people expressed interest)
Match results are emailed within 24 hours
You will receive contact information for your mutual matches only

Important: Match results are only provided to ticket holders who attended the event. No-shows do not receive match results.

SECTION 7

CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOR

Expected Behavior

By attending our events, you agree to:

Treat all attendees, staff, and venue personnel with respect
Engage genuinely in conversations during dates
Not harass, intimidate, or make anyone uncomfortable
Respect personal boundaries and consent
Follow instructions from event staff
Consume alcohol responsibly (if applicable)
Not disrupt the event or other attendees’ experiences

Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Harassment of any kind (sexual, verbal, or physical)
Discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic
Aggressive, threatening, or violent behavior
Excessive intoxication or drug use
Inappropriate physical contact without consent
Taking photos/videos of other attendees without their permission
Attempting to obtain contact information outside the official match process
Fraudulent representation (lying about age, relationship status, etc.)
Disruptive or disrespectful conduct

Consequences of Misconduct

If you violate these conduct rules:

You will be immediately removed from the event without refund
You may be banned from future events
We may report serious incidents to authorities
You will not receive match results
We reserve the right to share information about misconduct with other event organizers

Safety Concerns

If you feel unsafe or witness concerning behavior:

Immediately notify our event staff
We will take appropriate action to ensure your safety
All reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially

SECTION 8

LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS

Venue Liability

Events are held at third-party venues. We are not responsible for:

Venue safety or security
Food and beverage quality
Venue facilities or amenities
Actions of venue staff or other patrons

Personal Belongings

We are not responsible for:

Lost, stolen, or damaged personal items
Valuables left unattended
Items left at venues after events

Please keep your belongings with you at all times.

Health and Safety

By attending our events, you confirm that:

You are in good health and able to participate
You do not have any contagious illnesses
You will inform staff of any medical conditions that may require assistance

We are not liable for health issues or injuries that occur at events, except where caused by our negligence.

SECTION 9

MATCH SERVICES

How Matching Works

Our match service operates as follows:

You meet people at the event through speed dating rounds
You indicate interest on match cards
We process cards after the event to identify mutual matches
Match results are emailed within 24 hours

Information Shared

When there’s a mutual match, we share:

First name
Email address
Any additional information you provided on your match card

By attending our events, you consent to this information sharing with mutual matches.

Your Responsibility

Once you receive match information:

You are responsible for your own communications
We are not responsible for how matches interact after the event
Respect boundaries if someone doesn’t respond or declines further contact
Report any concerning behavior to us

No Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

Any specific number of matches
That you will match with anyone
The accuracy of information provided by other attendees
The outcome of any connections made at our events

SECTION 10

PREMIUM FEATURES

Second Chance Feature

Premium ticket holders can:

See who expressed interest in them (even non-mutual matches)
Update their match selections after the event
Reconsider anyone they initially passed on

Ticket Protection

Premium ticket holders can:

Move their booking to another event once without penalty
Must provide notice of not being to attend by midnight of the day before the event
Subject to availability
Alternative event must be equal or lesser value

Familiar Faces

Premium ticket holders can:

See how many attendees they’ve met at previous events
Helps avoid attending events with many repeat attendees
Information provided before the event when possible

SECTION 11

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Service “As Is”

Our events and services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

What We’re Not Liable For

We are not responsible for:

The conduct or actions of attendees during or after events
Relationship outcomes or romantic success
Accuracy of information provided by other attendees
Emotional distress or disappointment
Third-party services (venues, transportation, etc.)
Loss or damage to personal property at events
Injuries occurring at events (except where caused by our negligence)
Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.)

Maximum Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of our services shall not exceed the ticket price you paid.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any other liability that cannot be excluded by law

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.

SECTION 12

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our Content

All content on our website and in our events (including text, graphics, logos, images, and format) is our property or used with permission. You may not:

Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content
Use our branding without permission
Create derivative works based on our materials

User-Generated Content

If you submit content to us (reviews, testimonials, feedback):

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it
You confirm you have the right to share the content
We may use it for marketing and promotional purposes

SECTION 14

THIRD-PARTY TICKETING PLATFORMS

If you purchase tickets through third-party platforms (Eventbrite, Skiddle, TicketSource):

You are also subject to their terms and conditions
Their refund policies may differ from ours (but our no-refunds policy still applies)
Contact the platform directly for booking/payment issues

SECTION 15

AMENDMENTS TO TERMS

Right to Modify

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.

Notification

For significant changes, we will:

Email registered users
Post a notice on our website
Provide reasonable notice before changes take effect

Your Acceptance

Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don’t agree with changes, you must stop using our services.

TERMINATION

Refuse service to anyone
Ban individuals from future events
Cancel bookings for misconduct or fraud
Terminate accounts for Terms violations

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

You lose access to all services
No refunds will be provided
Outstanding matches or bookings are void
We may retain your information as required by law

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Informal Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute:

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you may use the Online Dispute Resolution platform provided by the European Commission: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ratemydateni.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to another entity.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, etc.).
